An open invitation

The trip is paused.
The tradition doesn't have to be.

For years, coworkers became campmates, fishing partners, card sharks, and lifelong friends. Now we're looking for someone—or a whole new crew—to take the lead and bring Frenchman's back.

Last trip 2019 Lake Davis · Portola, CA

The final cast—for now.

A good run deserves another chapter.

The last Frenchman's Trip took place in 2019 at Lake Davis near Portola, California. Since then, life moved on and the trip has been paused. The three organizers—Phil, Bobby, and James—have a lot of great years behind them, but no longer have the energy to run the annual gathering themselves.

What remains is worth carrying forward: time outdoors, friendly competition, late-night stories, and the kind of camaraderie that only happens when everyone gets away from the everyday.

More than a fishing trip

The things we always came back for.

There was never just one reason to go. Frenchman's was a collection of simple traditions, repeated every year until they became the trip.

The invitation is real

Could your crew bring it back?

The trip doesn't need to return exactly as it was. It needs people willing to gather the group, choose the place, and put a date on the calendar. Keep the old traditions. Add new ones. Make it yours.
